First Dates Ireland couple announce engagement four years after meeting on the show.
Love has truly blossomed for First Dates Ireland couple Ginine Power and Andrew Martin, who have announced their engagement four years after first being paired on the hit RTÉ dating series.
The pair were originally matched back in August 2021, with their date airing on TV in January 2022. Now, on the exact anniversary of their very first meeting, they’ve shared the happy news that they’re engaged.
Posting a heartwarming video on social media, Ginine and Andrew first replayed the sweet moment when they agreed to see each other again after their debut date. The clip then cut to Andrew getting down on one knee against the breathtaking backdrop of Knocknarea.
aGinine captioned the post: “‘Do you want to see each other again?’ 07/08/2021. ‘Will you marry me?’ 07/08/2025. Two of the easiest yeses I’ve ever said.”
She went on to thank videographer @media_lrp for capturing the proposal and paid tribute to the show’s producer Laura Greene, adding: “As Andrew said on the date whoever put us together knew what she was doing.”
Fans and friends flooded the comments with messages of love and congratulations. Producer Laura herself wrote: “The comments were filled with kind words, with producer Laura Greene writing: "You’re both such dreamy people so thrilled I could put you together xx huge congrats."
