Uisce Éirinn begin a series of works across Cork city today, continuing for a number of weeks

Works include upgrading infrastructure and flushing works across the city


Uisce Éireann will begin works to upgrade the water infrastructure along Albert Road , an extension of the Cork City South Quays project.  

Where over 700m of old pipes are being decomissioned to be replaced by new larger, modern pipes along Albert Road. 

Nighttime works will begin on tonight on the Monahan/Victoria Road, operating Monday to Friday. 

A road closure will be in effect along Albert Road from October 6th to 24, Monday to Friday. 

Emergency access will be maintained at all time and signposted diversion route will be in place. 


Elsewhere, Uisce Éireann’s targeted flushing programme is commencing in the College Road area of the city. 

Crews will arrive tonight to carry out flushing works, which will take place in phases over the course of the next four weeks as part of Uisce Éireann’s network improvement plan to address water discolouration reports.  

The areas included in this round of works are:  

Donovans Road, O’Donovan Rossa Road, Gillabbey Park, Connaught Avenue, College Road, Sunview Terrace and College Square...
