Financial support of up to €20,000 available for small businesses and community organisations affected by recent floods
The Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme has been opened to support small businesses and community, voluntary, and sports organisations affected by recent flooding in Bantry.
The scheme was launched by Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, who described it as “vital support for businesses and communities unable to secure flood insurance.”
The scheme provides financial assistance to help organisations restore their premises to pre-flood condition, covering repairs such as flooring, fixtures, fittings, and damaged stock.
Initial support of up to €5,000 is available, with additional funding for severe damage, up to a total of €20,000. Building assessments will be coordinated through the Irish Red Cross, which is administering the payments on behalf of the Department.
Small businesses with up to 20 employees, and community or sports organisations, can apply.
Application forms are available online at redcross.ie/flood-bantry or at the Bantry branch of the Irish Red Cross.
For further details, organisations can contact emergencyflooding@redcross.ie
Minister Burke added that the scheme reflects “our commitment to helping communities recover quickly and get back on their feet after extreme weather events.”
