Cloud infrastructure leader Aiven has selected Cork City as the location for its new EMEA Go-to-Market (GTM) hub.

The expansion will establish a new Inside Sales organisation, alongside engineering and operational support roles, all aimed at driving growth in Aiven’s open-source cloud services. The company says the focus on sales positions will provide local talent with opportunities to grow in the global technology sector while strengthening Cork’s reputation as a hub for commercial and technological excellence.

Founded in Helsinki in 2016, Aiven operates in the managed open-source data infrastructure sector, providing fully managed services for widely used open-source technologies. The company now employs more than 400 people across 11 offices and multiple remote locations globally.

The project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke welcomed the announcement, saying:

"Aiven’s decision to establish its EMEA Go-to-Market hub in Cork is a strong endorsement of Ireland’s reputation as a leading destination for global technology investment. The creation of 40 high-quality jobs will provide exciting opportunities for skilled professionals and further strengthen Cork’s position as a centre of innovation and commercial excellence."

Conor Forde, Senior Vice President at Aiven, said Cork was chosen for its highly skilled talent pool and vibrant, diverse labour market, which are essential for the company’s next phase of growth.

IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan added:

"This investment not only brings new employment opportunities but also affirms the South West’s position as a leading destination for global technology companies."

Aiven is currently hiring across several business areas. Interested applicants can explore opportunities via the company’s careers page.
